Easter Monday dawned drizzly and cold with a bitter north wind sweeping the Croft circuit. An inauspicious start to what turned out to be an entertaining and exciting day's sport. 16 TVR's entered and thirteen started including Mathew Oakley out for the first time in his 6.2 litre LS3 engined Griff.

Drivers stood in dole queue silence as they waited to sign on and then fumbled numbly with a biro to signify their attendance. The curious thing is though, that in concert with the opening of the burger van the sun flung wide its French windows and beamed at us cheerfully, the grumpy early coldness warming into good natured banter as the prospect of the new season cheered the assembled.
